New "Retro" Industrial Urges Thoughtful Approach to Sign Programs

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/12/13 -- Note to Editors: There is one photo and video associated with this press release.

In an emergency, a highly visible sign offering clear direction or instruction can literally be the difference between life and death. Yet many tasked with ordering workplace signs simply order "the usual" instead of thinking through their current specific circumstances or need and how they may have changed. A new retro-style industrial with creative help from Second City alumnae aims to remind everyone involved in job safety about the need to put thought and care into an effective sign program, right through to where signs are hung for maximum effect.

The video stars Marty Adams (I, Martin Short, Goes Home; The Ron James Show; The Russell Peters Christmas Special) and is directed by Second City's Chris Earle. It is a tribute to the old, safety industrial films of the 1950s, which were, in fact, invented by a Canadian, the Academy Award-winning Frank Radford "Budge" Crawley.

"Seton is known for signs and labels so when people need them, they call us - but they are not always sure what they need. We wanted a quick, fun way to let people know what goes into a good sign so they can more easily create effective signage programs to keep their workers safe," said Rebecca Gounaris, Strategic Marketing Manager for Seton Canada.

This video is the second in a series that Seton has launched as part of its website. The website features helpful articles and tips, often quoting top experts from across the country and written by seasoned journalists who have worked with top Canadian media outlets.

For 26 years, has been helping responsible employers keep their workers safe with signs (both custom and stock), labels, PPE, and first aid kits and much more. The company ships Canada wide, often the same day, and provides expert assistance in navigating the complex, time-consuming-but-all-important task of job safety. Seton Canada is a proud partner to thousands of companies striving for a culture where zero accidents and 100% compliance are the norm, and offers compliance solutions that reduce lost-time accidents, raise productivity and improve insurance rates out on the floor, in the field, and from behind the desk.
