Through interactive programming, guest performers, speakers and storytellers, the weekend highlights the strength and courage crucial to the quest for liberty. Events during the Steadfast Spirits weekend include:
A performance by , star of BET's "Let's Stay Together," portraying the story of enslaved woman Lydia Broadnax as she evolves from her role in the house of an 18th-century scholar and influencer into an emancipated, successful businesswoman. A question-and-answer session with the cast will follow.
