Media Advisory: Penny Rounding to Benefit Customers at Giant Tiger
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/06/13 -- Giant Tiger Stores Limited is pleased to announce that all Giant Tiger stores will be rounding down prices at the register for cash transactions. For example if a customer's cash purchase is 4.99, then the customer pays only 4.95!
"Giant Tiger recognizes that for Canadian families every penny counts. We are committed to always providing outstanding value and rounding cash transactions to the benefit of the customers is just one way we can do this," says Greg Farrell President and COO, Giant Tiger Stores Limited.
As a result of the elimination of the penny there will be no change to how items are priced or to how the register calculates totals. It will instead impact the amount due and the change provided to customers on their cash transactions. The penny elimination does not impact how transactions tendered with credit, debit, gift cards or travelers' cheques are calculated.
This will be effective in all Giant Tiger, Tigre Geant, Scott's Discount, Chez Tante Marie and GT Xpress stores.
