"An Agenda for Justice": Bar Association Calls for Election Commitment to Improve Justice System and Laws
(firmenpresse) - VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/05/13 -- The BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association is calling on all candidates in the next provincial election to support their Platform Document -- An Agenda for Justice. The platform outlines both short-term and long-term actions to increase the effectiveness of BC's justice system and improve BC laws.
"Everyone who seeks public office should be asked what they and their party will do to protect the ability of families, communities and businesses to prevent and resolve legal issues in a fair, timely and effective way," said Kerry Simmons, president of the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch (CBABC). "We have prepared this platform document to help start that conversation."
An Agenda for Justice outlines four key pillars for justice system reform, incremental investment and changes in law:

CBABC members will meet with candidates throughout the province to discuss An Agenda for Justice, and will encourage all parties to include commitments to action in their election platforms.
