Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI(R)) Climbs to Nearly Two-Year High in January
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 01/30/13 -- Spectrem Group announced today that its Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) gained 13 points in January, a near two-year high. The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) gained five points from the previous month to -4.
The Indexes measure the investment confidence and outlook of households with $500,000 or more in net worth.
"Millionaire investors drove increases in both Spectrem Indexes in January," noted George H. Walper, Jr., President of Spectrem Group. "They were more active in the markets than their Non-Millionaire counterparts, and are expressing more confidence in the economy and company health, according to the latest Spectrem Millionaire Household Outlook, which surveys attitudes toward financial factors that impact their daily lives."
When asked what is the one factor affecting their investment plans today, the highest percentage of Affluent investors said Stock market conditions, followed by the economic environment. This month saw a waning impact on Affluent investment plans of the political environment, perhaps a reflection of relief over the zero hour passage at the beginning of the month of a fiscal cliff deal.
