Updated Allergy Alert/CFIA: Undeclared Peanuts in Certain Dymatize Nutrition Brand Elite Gourmet Fudge Brownie Bar
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/17/13 -- The public warning issued on January 15, 2013 has been updated to include an additional lot code.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Peak Performance Products Inc. are warning people with allergies to peanut not to consume certain Dymatize Nutrition brand Elite Gourmet product described below. The affected product contains peanut which is not declared on the label.
The affected product, Dymatize Nutrition brand Elite Gourmet Fudge Brownie bar, product of USA, is sold in 42.5 g package, bearing UPC 7 05016 99313 0 and lot code Best Before SEP 2013 12199A.
This product has been distributed nationally.
There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of this product.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanut.
The importer, Peak Performance Products Inc., Toronto, ON is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
