Sales Milestone for Volkswagen Canada
More New Models On The Way
(firmenpresse) - AJAX, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/03/13 -- has rung in the New Year with an all-time record. December sales of 3,777 new cars and light trucks represent the best ever result for the month and were 6% higher than during the same period last year (3,565). Year-to-date, the total of 59,132 firmly established 2012 as the single best sales year for the company and outpaced the previous record (52,604) by over 12%. These figures were double the growth of the industry as a whole. Volkswagen has been in Canada since 1952.
"This is quite a significant milestone," stated John White, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. "Our sincere thanks go out to the entire Canadian Dealer network, and to every customer from coast-to-coast that allowed us to reach this new plateau."
Volkswagen remains the market leader in fuel-saving technology. These engines are now available in the , , , , , and models. The Jetta also features an optional powertrain, combining the fun-to-drive character of all Volkswagens with the energy conservation of a hybrid.
Looking forward, the company will introduce a host of new models in 2013 that continue to embody the same virtues of safety, fuel efficiency, reliability and fun. These attributes, combined with aggressive pricing, have made Volkswagen an unparalleled Canadian value story for the last sixty years.
