Hamburg, 27th December 2012 - Varengold Wertpapierhandelsbank AG (WKN
547930), a German investment bank with an exclusive focus on asset
management with managed futures and capital markets brokerage, has secured
a majority in Hanseatic Brokerhouse Securities AG (HBS). Varengold would
increasingly bind the future operation of the HBS.
Against this background, Varengold has increased its existing stake in HBS
in the amount of 16% up to 71%. Among others, Varengold thus secures the
full sales-power of the HBS and continues its also specifically targeted
internationalization by means of the sales units of HBS. HBS operates a
branch in the Spanish capital Madrid and a sales office in the port-city of
Valencia in addition to its headquarters in Hamburg. HBS addresses its
offer primarily to private investors and traders. Apart from the actual
commercial products such as CFDs and Forex, the focus of the company lies
in the knowledge transfer of extensive training and information products,
so that Varengold can participate on the compilation of instructional
videos developed by HBS within the continuing cooperation, which explain
the trading for 'everyone' in a simple manner. Varengold also intends to
further expand its stake in HBS in January 2013.
