The Green Forum Urges People, Businesses, & Organizations to Be More Environmentally and Socially Responsible This New Year
(firmenpresse) - DENVER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/18/12 -- The hopes that people do not lose sight of being green in 2013, despite a struggling economy that could put the nation into another recession.
"Times are tough out there for many," The Green Forum founder and owner said. "It's easy for people to want to focus on the economy, but it's important for us as a country and world to continue to focus even more on environmental issues. This is not the time to let green issues slip by the wayside."
While businesses and individuals may feel the squeeze of tighter economic policies and higher tax rates, some are becoming more this new year. One business industry is planning future endeavors and practices with an emphasis toward being green. Many hotels made the pledge to become greener during the annual Hotel Conference Center Trends for 2013 in hopes of being a more attractive and desired lodging option to customers.
Yellow Pages, a traditionally un-green product, has thrown its hat into the going-green ring. Inlander reported that in 2005 the Environmental Protection Agency provided a report that of the 660,000 tons of phone books manufactured; only 18 percent were recycled. One socially responsible organization, Yellow Pages Goes Green, believes that 2013 could be the year of outdated things like phone books going green -- or digital.
