Caravan Towing in Ice and Snow

Long range forecasts are already predicting the coldest winter for 100 years with temperatures as low as minus 20 expected in some rural areas and gale force winds up to 80mph.
Safeguard, a leading provider of surveyed its customers and found that one in ten will still embark on a winter caravan holiday this year despite the possibility of bad weather.
While the most sensible bit of advice regarding towing in snow and ice is don't do it, there may be occasions when a 'vanner is caught in an unexpected blizzard. If this does happen, Safeguard has put together some tips for towing in snow and ice:
Andy Leech, head of Safeguard said, "While it's great to get away during the off-peak season, the weather can be a bit more extreme and unpredictable. 'Vanners should not tow in ice and snow unless absolutely necessary as it can be very easy to lose control of vehicles, particularly when towing a heavy caravan."
