The guide book launched to mark Parks Canada's 100th anniversary as the world's first national park service is now a best seller in Canada. This popular, extensively-illustrated volume is widely available and makes a perfect gift for nature lovers and anyone planning a holiday in Canada.

The Honourable Peter Kent, Canada's Environment Minister and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, announced in July 2011 this ground-breaking collaboration between National Geographic and Parks Canada to publish an official guide showcasing Canada's national parks and national marine conservation areas. Since then, sales have reached over 22,000 copies and continue to grow with the holiday season approaching.
Available in English, French and German, the guide offers comprehensive information on Canada's vast network of national parks and marine conservation areas and also highlights side-trips to historic sites near national parks. Written by Canadian authors, the book contains an overview of each site including a portrait of its natural wonders, history, ecological setting and visitor experiences.
The National Geographic Guide to the National Parks of Canada is available in bookstores across the country, and can be ordered from popular on-line retailers as well. The suggested retail list price is $27.00.
