Schneider Electric EVlink(TM) units offer quick charge and reliability

has been actively involved in the electric vehicle (EV) market for over ten years, developing a range of robust solutions for the increasing number of domestic and commercial drivers who are choosing electrically-powered vehicles. The latest addition to the range is the easy to use EVlink™ unit which is now available to purchase through RS, one of a select group of resellers in the UK.
It is estimated by the that it's six times more expensive to run a diesel or petrol car compared to an electric vehicle. Plug-in vehicles are not subject to road tax, and servicing costs tend to be lower. The Climate Change Committee (CCC) recommends that Government should aim for a widespread roll-out of electric cars and plug-in hybrids by 2020, ensuring that up to 1.7 million of these vehicles are on the road by this time.

RS is piloting EV charging at its Corby site after installing two EVlink™ units for customers, visitors and staff which are currently free to use. If the trial is a success, the units will be rolled out across its network of trade counters located across the UK.
