Luxury Hawaii Resort Gives Back This Holiday Season
(firmenpresse) - KAPALUA, HI -- (Marketwire) -- 12/06/12 -- For the 20th consecutive year, The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua showed its appreciation and gratitude for Maui's public safety groups by delivering turkey dinners to the Hawaiian island's Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Departments who were on duty Thanksgiving Day.
"Every Thanksgiving we like to take the opportunity to thank our public safety teams and demonstrate how grateful we are for everything they do to serve and protect our community. Knowing that many of these ladies and gentlemen work long shifts during the holidays, we show our gratitude by hand-delivering a complete Thanksgiving meal to each station," said Vice President and General Manager, Tom Donovan of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.
The annual outreach effort was enhanced this year through a partnership with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. This partnership enabled the ladies and gentlemen of to extend dinner delivery to the public safety groups in Hana -- something that has been a struggle in previous years due to logistical issues.
Hotel Manager Ian McPhee explained, "The rescue teams in Hana are so vital to the safety of Maui's residents and visitors that we were determined to find a way to reach them in a timely manner. Thankfully Blue Hawaiian Helicopters stepped up to the challenge and offered to fly the dinners over to the group in Hana."
On behalf of the entire staff at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Hotel Manager Ian McPhee and Director of Loss Prevention Stephen Howard delivered meals to over sixty public safety officers, spending time with each group to personally thank them for their service. Meals were prepared by the culinary team and were led by Executive Chef John Zaner and Executive Sous Chef Ryan Urig. The three-course dinner included salad, turkey with gravy, traditional stuffing, mashed potatoes, fresh garden vegetables, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie for dessert.
