The honors handed out were based on reviews of readers of these three prominent publications, all recognized as outstanding travel authorities. Conde Nast Traveler had more than 46,400 travelers cast ballots in this year's annual Readers' Choice survey, while the editors of Caribbean Travel + Life tallied more than 150,000 votes to establish the winners of their prestigious honors. The honor from Virgin Islands Property & Yacht came from open balloting by locals and tourists alike via online balloting and the magazine's social media outlets.
