CBSA Announces More Removals and an Arrest from Their Wanted List

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/29/12 -- The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today announced the removals of Eton Dacosta and Saeed Ibrahim Jama from Canada and the apprehension of Daniel Alexander Brown. All three individuals are featured on the "Wanted by the CBSA" list.

Dacosta is the 23rd individual from the "Wanted by the CBSA" list to be removed. The Ontario Provincial Police arrested Dacosta in Toronto on September 29. He is inadmissible to Canada due to serious criminality, including convictions for four counts of assault, obstructing a peace officer, escaping lawful custody and possession of a weapon. Dacosta was removed on November 21.

Jama, who was arrested by the Edmonton Police Service Specialized Traffic Apprehension Teams during a routine traffic stop on October 31, is the 24th individual from the "Wanted by the CBSA" list removed from Canada. Jama is inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality for being convicted of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and obstructing/resisting a peace officer. Jama was removed on November 26.

Brown was arrested on November 23 by members of the Immigration Task Force in Brampton, Ontario. The Immigration Task Force comprises CBSA and Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers. Brown is inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality after being convicted of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of stolen property.

To date, as a result of the "Wanted by the CBSA" program, Canadians have assisted in locating 35 individuals in Canada, of which 24 have been removed. Additionally, five individuals were located abroad.

Members of the public are reminded that they should not take action to apprehend the individuals listed on the CBSA Web site. Any information on the whereabouts of these wanted individuals should be reported to the CBSA Border Watch Toll-free Line at 1-888-502-9060.
