Minister Raitt Announces Appointment of Mr. Stephen Mansell to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/28/12 -- The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Minister of Labour, today announced the appointment of Mr. Stephen Mansell to represent Nunavut on the Council of Governors for the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety for a four- term effective November 28, 2012.
"I am pleased that Mr. Mansell has accepted this position," said Minister Raitt. "As a prominent lawyer with extensive experience serving the community in Northern Canada, Mr. Mansell will play an important role for the Centre."
Currently Director of Policy and Planning at the Department of Justice for the Government of Nunavut and former City Councillor of the city of Iqaluit, Mr. Mansell's career spans over a decade.
He studied at the University of Saskatchewan where he earned a Juris Doctor in Common Law, completed a directed study in Aboriginal Law at the University of Turku in Finland, and an Honours Degree in Political Science at Carleton University in Ottawa.
