Minister Raitt Announces New Appointment to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/28/12 -- The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, today announced the appointment of Mr. Helder Botelho to represent employers on the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) for a four-year term effective November 28, 2012.
"Mr. Botelho's wealth of experience and expertise in the field of occupational health and safety will surely benefit the Centre," said Minister Raitt.
Mr. Botelho's extensive career spans over two decades. He has progressively held key positions where his leadership and devotion to accident awareness and prevention in the workplace have been consistently demonstrated. Most recently, he was Plant Manager at AOC Resins and Coatings in Guelph, Ontario.
Mr. Botelho has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's degree in Business Administration. He is a former Chair of the Board of the Industrial Accident and Prevention Association and a current member of the Canadian Education and Training Commission.
The CCOHS promotes the total well-being of working Canadians by providing information, training, education, management systems and solutions that support workplace health and safety. Governed by a tripartite Council-representing government, employers and labour-the CCOHS provides Canadians with unbiased and relevant information that supports responsible decision making on health and safety issues in the workplace.
