On the acquisition front, Duke Energy has been making headlines of late. The company recently purchased Outland Energy Services, a wind turbine maintenance and monitoring company, although terms of the transaction were not announced. Duke has also been working on enhancing its customer appeal, as it has stated it will be mailing comparative energy usage reports to a number of residential customers in North Carolina.
