Communities Against Contraband Tobacco-the Canadian Convenience Stores Association Release Strong Results of Municipal Campaign
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/26/12 -- The Canadian Convenience Stores Association (CCSA) and its regional representatives will be visiting Ottawa to meet with parliamentarians on the issue of contraband tobacco in Canada and its effect on municipalities. They will also be discussing the proposed Cornwall border movement and the effects it will have on local retailers and the contraband trade as a whole.

Together, they will be hosting a press conference where they will release the results of the Ontario and Quebec municipal engagement campaigns and call for additional enforcement measures from the federal government. RCMP intelligence has identified over 175 organized crime groups involved in the contraband tobacco trade and it remains a major public safety issue that requires partnerships between all levels of government.
Members of the CCSA will be available for questions and comments immediately following their opening statement.
