LimmudBoston 2012 Expands With Camp Limmud Family Program
CJP Innovation Grant Keeps Family Rate Low
(firmenpresse) - WABAN, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/19/12 -- The 3rd annual conference on Jewish lifelong learning -- to be held on December 2nd in Chestnut Hill, MA -- expands this year, to include a robust "Camp Limmud," program for children, ages 3-13. Camp Limmud is an age-appropriate version of LimmudBoston 2013, which meets in the same venue.
While parents are learning at LimmudBoston, children (ages 3-13) attend Camp Limmud ("Limmud" is Hebrew for "study") and experience some of the 130 sensational presenters their parents are hearing in topical panel discussions, concerts, storytelling and hands-on activities.
Thanks to an Innovation Grant from Combined Jewish Philanthropies (), LimmudBoston is able to lower the registration fee for parents who pre-register for Camp Limmud with their children. Additionally, kosher lunch is included for the entire family. Camp Limmud registration must be received by November 29, 2012.
The Camp Limmud Childcare Program (ages 3-7) program includes: yoga, music, drumming, Hebrew and Sign Language, as well as a read-along session with Liz Suneby, author of "It's a... It's a... It's a Mitzvah!"
Camp Limmud, for students (ages 8-13), includes Bibliodrama, drumming, chanting, outdoor activities and a film screening.
Both age groups will hear the Jewish Storytelling Coalition, and can attend the lunchtime concert with musicians Shawn Zevit, Noah Aronson and Naomi Less. They will also help with the community art project, a mosaic created by Cecilia Kremer of Chromatile.
Terri Swartz Russell, co-chair of LimmudBoston 2012, who coordinated the Camp Limmud schedule, says, "It's beautiful that LimmudBoston provides such width and breadth of learning. Expanding the program to inspire the next generation is a logical step in our growth." With LimmudBoston, Terri is a volunteer. In her daily life, Terri is the Family Educator at Temple Emanuel in Newton.
LimmudBoston is inspirational, educational, just sensational fun! Families must pre-register for Camp Limmud at no later than November 29th (No walk-ins allowed for Camp Limmud.) Find entire program at
