Coast Guard Foundation Announces Fund Drive to Support Coast Guard Members Affected by Hurricane Sandy
(firmenpresse) - STONINGTON, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 11/15/12 -- The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education, welfare and morale of Coast Guard members and their families, announced today that it is launching a fundraising campaign to support Coast Guard members and their families who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Working closely with the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Foundation will distribute funds to Coast Guard members who are stationed in the affected areas of Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
"Just as we did after Hurricane Katrina, the Coast Guard Foundation is supporting Coast Guard members during their time of need -- They should know that we are here for them, and we will do everything we can to support them," said Anne B. Brengle, President of the Coast Guard Foundation.
"There are many great groups offering assistance to those who have been affected by this storm, and we support their work. As an organization, we see the need -- and have the resources -- to help those who are serving in the United States Coast Guard," continued Brengle.
The Coast Guard is at its best when situations are the most dire. The brave men and women of the service risk life and limb to save others, even when their own homes and families are in harm's way. Join us in helping to give back by supporting those who were affected by Hurricane Sandy, and contribute to the Coast Guard Foundation.
Contributions can be made via the website at , or by calling the office at 860-535-0786. Donations may be mailed to Coast Guard Foundation, 394 Taugwonk Road, Stonington, Connecticut 06378.
For over 40 years, the Coast Guard Foundation has been committed to inspiring leadership, learning and a proud legacy of service to our nation by supporting the men and women of the United States Coast Guard. The Foundation provides higher education grants to enlisted personnel, reservists and their children, higher education financial support for families of Coast Guard members lost in the line of duty, financial relief to Coast Guard families who have lost possessions in natural disasters, and support for morale programs, including funding recreation, exercise and family-oriented facilities.
