(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/14/12 -- On November 16th, 2012, literacy supporters will come together in Toronto for a night of entertainment that will make a difference in the lives of thousands of children in Africa.

CODE will be hosting its third annual Read Africa Ball at the Rosehill Venue Lounge. Hosted by Global Toronto's The Morning Show host Kris Reyes and with a performance from African drumming band Xaware and live music by the classic rock band The Roadogs, a silent auction and much more, this unique event aims to raise funds for CODE's work to support literacy and learning for children and youth in Africa. During the last five years, CODE has distributed over three million books, provided 10,000 teachers and librarians with professional development, and supported over 7,500 school and community libraries in eight countries.

"At CODE, we imagine a world where every child can read and write, where books are accessible and meaningful to the reader," said CODE Executive Director Scott Walter. "The funds raised through the Read Africa Ball will help us realize this vision, helping young people in the countries where we work to pursue their education and realize their full potential."

Tickets are available at .

Mr. Walter will be available for media interviews at the event.
