Service Initiative Celebrates the Season of Giving With a Month of Activities

In an effort to embody the spirit of the season, the staff of the Courtyard Canton has launched a "30 Days of Giving Thanks" drive, starting November 1, 2012.
In the month of November this staff will be doing something to give back to the community or individuals each and every day. It can be as simple as taking baked cookies to the National Guard at the Akron/Canton Airport and telling them "thank you for your service," or recognizing a road crew and taking hot coffee out to them on a cold day. Hotel employees are invited to join for any or all activities.
Each day, the hotel staff is doing something to give back to the community, non-profit organizations or individuals. To date, they've collected cash donations for the victims of Hurricane Sandy through the American Red Cross, given blood to LifeShare, donated clothes and goods to Goodwill, started filling the lobby "Toys for Tots" bin, and donated to the local Humane Society. The staff works together to complete each day's service goal, and maintains a calendar to keep them on track, as well as a Facebook page to bring awareness to organizations and set an example for others to follow.
