Minister Raitt Congratulates Canadian Pacific and the United Steelworkers on Reaching a Collective Agreement
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/13/12 -- Today, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, recognized the new collective agreement that was ratified by Canadian Pacific and the United Steelworkers, Local 1976.
"I am very pleased that Canadian Pacific and the United Steelworkers worked together to reach a new agreement through direct negotiations," said Minister Raitt. "Cooperative labour-management relations benefit the economic prosperity and security of Canadians."
The United Steelworkers, Local 1976, represents approximately 800 clerical and intermodal employees at Canadian Pacific. Their previous contract expires on December 31, 2012.
