2013 Festival Announces Creekstone Farms Presents Delta Diamond Dishes: A League of Their Own at Marlins Park
(firmenpresse) - MIAMI BEACH, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/12/12 -- The announces a new event added to its 2013 program to benefit those affected by Hurricane Sandy. On Saturday, , some of the nation's top female chefs will step up to the plate at Marlins Park for Creekstone Farms presents Delta Diamond Dishes: A League of Their Own to support the hurricane relief efforts of the and the .
"Hurricane Sandy's devastation unfortunately will be with us for a long time," said Julie Loria, author of Diamond Dishes and wife of Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria. "We hope you will join us in helping those who have lost so much."
This newly added walk-around-the-bases dinner will take place on the field at Miami's Marlins Park. The evening will begin in The Clevelander where will host a cocktail reception featuring bites from her debut cookbook. Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson will select the perfect wines from the Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida portfolio to accompany dishes from the following celebrated chefs:

Additionally, of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams will be serving dessert in the dugout to satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooth. Guests might even find themselves mingling at home plate with some of their favorite Marlins baseball players!
All proceeds from ticket sales for this event will support the efforts of the Mayor's Fund for NYC Hurricane Relief and the hunger relief efforts of the Food Bank For New York City, as they assist those affected by Hurricane Sandy with both immediate needs and long-term assistance. The event will also feature a silent auction with exclusive travel packages from Delta to help raise additional funds for the organization.
This is not the first time the Festival has added new events to its line-up to assist with relief and recovery efforts of a natural disaster. In 2010 the Festival hosted a dinner at Miami's premier Haitian restaurant, Tap Tap, with celebrated chefs Daniel Boulud, Masaharu Morimoto and Kris Wessel to benefit to support earthquake relief efforts after the 2009 disaster devastated Haiti.
Proceeds from all other Festival events benefit the and Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center at Florida International University. Stay up-to-date with the excitement by following the Festival at or follow founder and director Lee Brian Schrager at .
