Executive Chairman Dr. Peter Chung to attend official unveiling ceremony in Ottawa
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/02/12 -- Dr. Peter Chung will represent the Eminata Group at the Animals in War (AIW) Dedication official unveiling ceremony in Ottawa on November 3, 2012.
Recognizing the role animals have played during wartime, AIW strives to honour the sacrifices made by war animals that served alongside their human allies in battle. The cause struck a chord with Dr. Chung, whose father served in the Korean War, a conflict in which a large number of animals were used to navigate the terrain and carry supplies.
"I am humbled, honoured and proud to be a part of this dedication," says Chung. "Every day, our lives are touched by the sacrifices made by people and animals in the name of freedom, justice and peace. It's only fitting that we recognize and give thanks for all God's creatures that have served."
As Presenting Sponsor of the AIW project, Dr. Chung will be joined by Senator Yonah Martin and fellow sponsor, Mark Broadhurst, Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations for Mars Canada to assist in the unveiling.
The AIW project is just one of the initiatives Dr. Chung and The Eminata Group support. Eminata has also generously donated funds to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Opera, Bard on the Beach, and Saint Patrick's Choir. Most recently, Dr. Chung established the Joseph Chung Endowment at Briercrest College and Seminary in Saskatchewan to complement the Joseph Chung Scholarship Fund at Regent College in Vancouver, the Joseph Chung Endowment at Trinity Western University in Langley and the Joseph Chung Endowment at Pepperdine University. These programs were established to assist those pursuing higher education in the field of special education.
The Animals in War Dedication unveiling ceremony takes place at Confederation Park in Ottawa, Ontario, on November 3, 2012 at 10:30am.
