Central Michigan Irrigated Farmland to Be Offered in Nov. 19 Auction
(firmenpresse) - BRECKENRIDGE, MI -- (Marketwire) -- 11/01/12 -- Approximately 540 acres of productive irrigated farmland in Central Michigan's Gratiot County will be offered at auction Monday, Nov. 19, with marketing the property and managing the sale.
Also selling as separate tracts will be Valley 8000 Series irrigation systems and related equipment.
The land, most of which is tillable, includes 400 acres in Breckenridge, which will be offered in five tracts, ranging from 40 acres to 109 acres. "This is very productive land that can be purchased in any combination. By also selling the irrigation equipment as separate tracts, we're offering the greatest possible flexibility to enable bidders to purchase just tracts and equipment that suit their needs," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.
An additional 140 acres, approximately 18 miles to the southwest on Pendell Road, will sell as a single tract, with irrigation systems and related equipment selling as separate tracts.
"Most of this land has been planted recently in carrots, gourds and corn, but it's excellent for soybeans and a wide range of vegetables. It wouldn't surprise me to see this going to one, two or more operators in the area who can integrate the land and irrigation equipment into their existing operations, but it's very attractive from an investment perspective as well," said Ed Boyer, auction manager for Schrader.
The auction will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Breckenridge High School Cafeteria, 700 Wright Street, Breckenridge, Mi. Schrader personnel will be available at Bethany Township Hall, 9958 Blair Road, St. Louis, Mich., at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, to provide additional information and guide inspections.
