Universal(R) Enhances UVflightplanner.com(sm)
New Features Include CFMU Routing Assistance, ICAO 2012 Wizard, & in Workflow FRAT
(firmenpresse) - ORLANDO, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 10/30/12 -- -- Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. clients can now instantly receive Central Flow Management Unit (CFMU)-approved routing options from EuroControl, quickly conform their flight planning format to ICAO 2012 requirements via an automated wizard, and conveniently calculate a high-level risk assessment, all within UVflightplanner.com.
UVflightplanner.com is the comprehensive Universal® system specifically for operators of business jets. Users have access to the same flight planning engine used by Universal Trip Support Services teams. UVflightplanner.com operational briefing packages are now also accessible via Ops Brief 2.0 app, available for download from the Apple App Store and for demo at NBAA at Universal exhibit #2516.
"We recognize that our clients don't want to switch back and forth between multiple applications or tools for different services -- they want it all in one place and available wherever they are," said Randy Stephens, Division Vice President, Product Management.
"These enhancements to UVflightplanner.com were created with efficiency in mind by eliminating manual processes such as having to make multiple calls to EuroControl for assistance when a flight plan has a failed route, filling in by hand the tedious forms for complying with ICAO 2012 requirements, or exiting their flight planning software to complete a FRAT (Flight Risk Assessment Tool)," said Marcus Walker, Product Manager.
Universal worked closely with EuroControl to build a tool within UVflightplanner.com that links into CFMU, allowing users to automatically receive routing recommendations with the click of a button upon receiving a failed route. "Users don't want to have to spend 30 minutes on the phone with CFMU when their flight plan is rejected or have to guess on another route," said Walker. "With our integration into CFMU, they will be given automatically approved alternate routes instantly."
With ICAO 2012 flight planning format requirements going into effect Nov. 15, 2012, creating a simple tool for compliance was a top priority for UVflightplanner.com. "Our ICAO 2012 wizard assists users in determining the correct codes for aircraft equipment, making the process of updating their ops specs forms more efficient and accurate," said Walker.
The FRAT integrated into the workflow of UVflightplanner.com is based on an FAA scoring model and eliminates the need to leave UVflightplanner.com, as it is integrated into the flight plan interface. "Users can now quickly calculate flight risk and have the assessment sent with their flight planning operational briefing package," said Walker.
