Swimco Celebrated Grand Opening of 17th Avenue Location With a Tropical Twist
Western Canada's premier swimwear retailer opened new Hanson Square location with models and music.
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/23/12 -- Swimco, Western Canada's premier swimwear retailer, celebrated the Grand Opening of their new location at Hanson Square on 17th Avenue SW with a tropical-flavoured VIP event featuring an exclusive fashion show and a very unique "chawel" competition.
The VIP Grand Opening took place on October 23, 2012 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the fashion show beginning at 5:30 p.m. Guests had the opportunity to see the new store location and preview new vacation season styles, while enjoying the official opening with a tropical twist.
Unique to the event was also a special "Chawel" competition. The Chawel, otherwise known as the change anywhere towel, serves as a portable changing room for the beach or anywhere you would want to easily slip into a swimsuit. The competition pitted Swimco staff against special guests in a race to change into a Swimco swimsuit beneath a portable changing room.

Swimco was founded in 1975 as a mail-order swimwear business catering to the needs of swim teams, lifeguards and synchronized swimmers across Canada. In 1980, Lori Bacon joined her mother's business, and together they added fashion swimwear to the product offering. Going from three locations in Calgary to opening stores in British Columbia they continued their steady expansion into strategic locations into all four western provinces.
