Shanghai Association for International Exchange of Personnel and The Options Industry Council Sign MOU Regarding Options Education in Shanghai
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 10/19/12 -- Shanghai Association for International Exchange of Personnel (SAIEP) and The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation on options research and education. This is the first MOU in China for OIC. Members of SAIEP and OIC attended the signing ceremony in Shanghai, China on Friday, October 19, 2012.
Shanghai is committed to building an international financial center. SAIEP and OIC have agreed to work together to develop a program in China to educate investors, professionals, regulators and industry organizations about exchange listed options.
"We are very pleased to sign our first MOU in China with SAIEP and we look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship as we share the same goal of educating Chinese market participants about the responsible use of options," said Gina McFadden, OIC President.
"OIC is the industry resource for options education. SAIEP is dedicated to cooperating with organizations and institutions both at home and abroad, with the view to promote personnel exchange and cooperation. I hope to further educational efforts such as training programs for financial professionals and information sharing in order to contribute to Shanghai's development as an international financial center," said Huang Weimao, Executive Deputy Secretary General of SAIEP.
OIC is an industry cooperative funded by BATS Options, BOX Options Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, C2 Options Exchange, International Securities Exchange, NASDAQ OMX PHLX, NASDAQ Options Market, NYSE Amex Options, NYSE Arca Options and OCC. OIC was formed in 1992 to educate investors and their financial advisors about the benefits and risks of exchange-traded equity options. OIC's resources include: Investor Services live help at 1-888-OPTIONS, its educational website at , live seminars throughout the continental United States and Canada, and educational literature.
Shanghai Association for International Exchange of Personnel (SAIEP) was established on April 18, 1988 by the approval of the Shanghai municipal government. It is an NGO specialized in the international exchange of personnel. The objective of SAIEP is to explore the channel of exchange, make new friends, establish cooperation with organizations and institutions home and abroad with a view to promote the international cooperation and exchange, absorb the fruit of civilization of human society as a whole, learn the advanced management methodology, which reflects the common rule of modern production and market economy, in order to build Shanghai into modern cosmopolitan.
