Minister Raitt Announces Reappointment of Mr. Gordon Lloyd to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/12/12 -- Today, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, announced the reappointment of Mr. Gordon Eric Lloyd as Governor representing employers to the Council of Governors of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), effective immediately.
"I am pleased with the reappointment of Mr. Lloyd," said Minister Raitt. "His experience and knowledge in the areas of occupational health and safety will definitely be an asset to the Centre."
Currently, Mr. Lloyd is the Vice-President of Technical Affairs at the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada. He has done extensive work in the fields of health, safety and the environment.
Mr. Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Manitoba.
The CCOHS, located in Hamilton, Ontario, was created in 1978 to promote the fundamental right of Canadians to a healthy and safe working environment. Governed by a tripartite council representing the federal, provincial and territorial governments, employers and workers, the CCOHS provides Canadians with unbiased and relevant information that supports responsible decision making on health and safety issues in the workplace.
