Stone Bridge Farms, Near Lexington, Va., to Sell in November Auction
(firmenpresse) - LEXINGTON, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/11/12 -- Stone Bridge Farms, a Lexington-area equine center widely known for its success in training riders and conducting events, will be sold at auction Wednesday, Nov. 14, as the owners wind down operations to pursue other interests.
"It's been wonderful to be part of the development and success of so many young riders and horses at Stone Bridge. We've watched our own horses, and our clients' horses, compete and win at the local, state and national level, and our high school teams have been among the best in the country," said owner Katrina Weinig. "We've reached a point where we feel it's time to streamline our equine endeavors, though I look forward to more judging and show management, as well as some new endeavors," she said.
The property is suitable for a wide range of boarding and training operations, according to Jim Woltz, president of , which is conducting the auction.
"Stone Bridge Farms is best known in hunter-jumper circles, but it can accommodate virtually any discipline of riding or training. The owners are continuing to run the business -- including lessons, training, showing and boarding. The new buyer can purchase the farm as a going concern. The new owners will have a turnkey operation if they choose to continue in that direction," said Woltz.
The property has a 9,700-square-foot horse barn, with an office and lounge, as well as a 32,000-square-foot indoor arena with stalls. It has a house, three outdoor arenas, 19 paddocks, and two shed row barns with a combined 6,000 square feet and 40 stalls (20 per barn).
The auction will begin at noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the property, 100 Equus Loop, Natural Bridge, Va. The real estate will be sold first, followed by the sale of saddles, bridles, vehicles, jumps and other equipment. Woltz associates will be available for open houses on Oct. 31, Nov. 4 and Nov. 11.
