Governor General to be Honoured at Queen's University Alumni Awards Gala
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/11/12 -- His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will visit Kingston, on Saturday, October 13, 2012, and meet with city representatives, community members, volunteers and students during a full day of activities.
"Going back to Kingston, where I studied and taught law at Queen's University, will surely bring back a lot of great memories," said the Governor General. "But I am mostly looking forward to meeting with the people of Kingston and learning about fruitful initiatives that have helped the community evolve over the past few years."
The day of events will include a visit to a house built by Habitat for Humanity in Bath, near Kingston; meetings with the city's representatives; and a working lunch to discuss current issues with leaders of the community. Then, at Queen's University, the Governor General will give a lecture, participate in a discussion with law students and will be honoured during an alumni gala.
