The Governor General Will Open the 2012 International Summit of Cooperatives in Quebec
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/04/12 -- His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will deliver opening remarks at the 2012 International Summit of Cooperatives, on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 8:30 a.m. The Governor General's speech will follow that of Ms. Monique F. Leroux, President and CEO of the Desjardins Group.
"Throughout Canada's history, the impact of cooperatives has been felt from coast to coast to coast. As governor general, I have been calling on Canadians to explore new and innovative ways of building a smarter, more caring nation and a fairer, more just world," said His Excellency. "I am sure that participants in this summit have the same desire, because cooperatives are essentially about working together to help each other and to strengthen our communities.
