Minister Toews Statement on 31st "Wanted by the CBSA" Apprehension
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/03/12 -- The Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, commended the officers of the Ontario Provincial Police on the apprehension of Eton Dacosta on September 29 in Toronto. Mr. Dacosta is inadmissible to Canada due to serious criminality, including a 2001 conviction of possessing a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace. To date, the CBSA has apprehended 31 individuals featured on the "Wanted by the CBSA" list.
"With this arrest, our government is demonstrating its commitment to locating and removing individuals who threaten the safety of our citizens and communities. Since its launch in July 2011, the 'Wanted by the CBSA' list has proven to be a very effective tool in locating individuals wanted for removal from Canada. With the assistance of Canadians, we will continue to send the message to those who try to evade justice that Canada offers no safe haven to those who abuse our laws."
