Swinerton Builders to Celebrate Completion of New Fullerton Community Center
(firmenpresse) - IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/02/12 -- is just wrapping up the final touches in preparation for the Grand Opening of the new Fullerton Community Center, an event that Fullerton residents and neighboring communities have been anxiously waiting that will soon be here!
Teaming with and , Swinerton Builders is pleased to deliver a second successful project for the City of Fullerton. Their previous project, the Fullerton Public Library, won an from ENR California in the Cultural/Worship category.
This new multi-generational, 59,000-square-foot community center combines the Fullerton Boys and Girls Club, the Fullerton Senior Center, and the community recreational services programs into a single facility. Located within the existing Amerige Park, the facility is divided into three wings -- one for each major activity area -- and is wrapped around an outdoor activity courtyard which opens to the surrounding park. Primary spaces include a double gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool, and a multi-purpose main event room. This space features a full kitchen, arts and crafts rooms, meeting rooms, and two computer technology teaching centers -- one for adults and one for young children. Utilizing decorative concrete block, colored porcelain tiles, and plaster and aluminum louvered sunscreens, the building's design reflects the broad historical context of Fullerton's architecture.
The Grand Opening of the new Fullerton Community Center is scheduled for Saturday, October 6th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM -- and you're invited!
