Luxury Santa Monica Hotel and Interior Designer Lynda Murray Captures Partner in New Contemporary Residential Designs

The property, which sits at the iconic corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Ocean Avenue, now offers the first of several new suites designed by Interior Designer Lynda Murray, featuring a distinct residential atmosphere inspired by Santa Monica culture and lifestyle.
When the former residence of Santa Monica Founder John P. Jones was converted into the Miramar Hotel, it represented a departure from tradition with the introduction of a residential mansion into the space. The new collection of residential-style suites marks yet another important change in the landscape and a return to the hotel's native roots.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Lynda Murray is one of the most sought-after residential designers in the country. Her style fuses the classic with the contemporary and is an embodiment of the eclectic and casual elegance of Santa Monica and Southern California. Murray designed these new suites to offer guests an opportunity to experience relevant, contemporary and elegant residential features previously only found in apartments.
The 785 square-foot newly-designed suite is the first of the new series, and offers inviting views of the Pacific Ocean and is decked out with artwork that is symbolic of Santa Monica and Los Angeles, including an iconic black and white Henry Diltz photograph of The Doors strolling along Venice Beach. Other design elements include hickory hardwood floors, a contemporary candelabra chandelier, custom-designed velvet wing back bed, zinc distressed metal night stands, a steel and reclaimed wood coffee table and a glass and metal desk that transitions from workspace to dining table. The suite also includes a wet bar equipped with classic 1920s-inspired cocktail recipes and a retro espresso coffee maker.
