Nebraska Agricultural Land -- 1,855 Acres -- to Be Offered in November Auction
(firmenpresse) - HASTINGS, NE -- (Marketwire) -- 10/02/12 -- Approximately 1,855 acres of Nebraska agricultural land -- most of it irrigated farmland -- will be offered at auction Thursday, Nov. 8, with managing the sale in cooperation with the Lund Company.
"We keep hearing that there just isn't much farmland being put on the market, so it's good to be able to offer this substantial property in the Hastings area. This land includes really good water on excellent soils. Some of the land that is not currently tillable has potential to be developed as cropland," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.
The land is in three different locations within seven miles, the largest of which has 1,100 contiguous acres being offered in nine tracts.
"Approximately 805 acres of the land in the largest block is tillable, with the majority either under pivots or gravity irrigation. All three groups of properties are in the same vicinity southwest of Hastings, close enough to all be worked by one operator. However, the farmer or investor who just wants a tract or two will be able to bid on just the property he wants, with the land selling in the combination that brings the highest total price," said Schrader.
"A second location has 196 contiguous acres, of which 191 acres are tillable, with 122 acres under pivot. The property in the third location totals 559 acres, with 443 under pivots. We also have some nice grassland in two of the three locations," he said.
