Media Advisory: Chef de Mission for Glasgow 2014 to be Announced During CBC-TV Broadcast
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 09/28/12 -- Team Canada's Chef de Mission for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games will be announced during CBC's Sports Day in Canada broadcast on Saturday, September 29th, 2012.
"Our Chef is one of Canada's most decorated athletes of all time," said Dr. Andrew Pipe, President of Commonwealth Games Canada. "This is a household name with sport credentials like very few others in Canada. To have this person leading Team Canada in Glasgow two years from now is going to be extremely exciting."
The official announcement will be made during the live CBC broadcast at approximately 5:00 p.m. EDT.
Dr. Pipe confirmed the Chef de Mission has close ties to the Commonwealth Games as well as both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
