Shaw Business Achieves MEF Carrier Ethernet 1.0 Certification
Shaw's fibre-based business Ethernet services tested for conformity and performance
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/25/12 -- Shaw Business (TSX: SJR.B) (NYSE: SJR) announced today that it has been awarded Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Carrier Ethernet 1.0 Certification for all of its fibre-based business Ethernet services (EPL, EVPL and VPLS). This makes Shaw Business one of the first carriers in Canada to achieve MEF ELAN Certification for its VPLS service.
MEF Certification is the global standard for Carrier Ethernet services standardization, designed to accelerate the deployment of Carrier Ethernet services worldwide. Shaw's Ethernet product catalogue has undergone extensive testing by Iometrix, the MEF's official laboratory, to prove conformity, performance and dependability. The certification provides customers assurance that Shaw's fibre-based Ethernet services meet or exceed standards and align to their networking needs.
