Martel Alliance Foundation Embark on Community-Building Mission in Haiti
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 09/25/12 -- The newly established charitable foundation, , confirmed plans to embark on an up-close and personal trip to Anse Rouge September 28, 2012. The commemorative trip marks the launch of and the first successful completion of a community building initiative. Among the group travelling to Haiti includes President and Founder, , who pioneered the Martel Alliance foundation based on his personal commitment to social entrepreneurship: "It's exciting for us and we are proud to be a part of philanthropy."
As a division of the real estate enterprise, Steve designed the House for a Home project using the one-for-one model. "We hope to make a difference and inspire others to get involved and do the same." Anse Rouge is a rural community located in the northwest region of Haiti. The Martel Alliance House for a Home project commissioned forty homes, a community center and five four-stall latrines. The foundation also donated four motor boats, two large freezers and a generator.
"It's really important to us that we get face-to-face contact," says Tyler MacLeod, Director of International Development. "We want to directly participate in the philanthropic process to gain a better understanding of the conditions in developing nations and design effective programs." The Martel Alliance House for a Home program expects to expand throughout the developing world to provide meaningful contributions.
