Endeavour Flies Over the Jewelry Exchange
(firmenpresse) - TUSTIN, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/21/12 -- The Jewelry Exchange staff and customers were treated to a spectacular show this afternoon as the Space Shuttle Endeavour soared over the building on its way to Los Angeles International Airport. The space shuttle, which was making a tour of several Southern California landmarks, left Kennedy Space Center in Florida before making its way across Texas, New Mexico and Arizona to land at Edwards Air Force base on Thursday. The shuttle made its flight up the coast to Sacramento and San Francisco before heading back to Southern California today. The shuttle is being relocated to its new home at the California Science Center in Exposition Park.
Fernando Mercado, a Jewelry Exchange employee, was the first to spot the shuttle. "It looked awesome. It came right over the building and made a turn to fly by us again. Luckily a lot of people were able to catch a glimpse."
The retirement of the Endeavour, as well as the final launch of NASA's Atlantis Space Shuttle in July, marks the bittersweet end of the space era in the US.
The Jewelry Exchange is owned by Goldenwest Diamond Corporation who also owns and operates the Jewelry Factory and the Jewelry Source.
