Bank archives more than 1 billion documents with SAPERION solution

ID: 1152434

(firmenpresse) - Every month, the electronic archive of OTP Bank Rt. in Budapest grows by approximately five million documents. As of August 2012, another 700 million older documents were imported into the system, raising the electronic archive's total to more than one billion. To handle this volume of data, the bank relies on the DMS solution from Berlin-based SAPERION AG.

Berlin - OTP Bank Rt. is the largest banking group in Hungary. In addition to its home market, the bank is active in many other Central and Eastern European countries. OTP has been digitally archiving all of its outbound documents with SAPERION's DMS program since early 2011. Once this approach had proven suitable for daily archiving purposes, the bank even moved all of the documents from its legacy archive into the new SAPERION solution. According to Andras Mersich, who supports the bank at SAPERION's local partner PrintSoft Hungary: "We first conducted a feasibility study for migration of data from the old system to SAPERION. Next step was a pilot project." In both cases, the expectations of OTP were met. This gave the bank good reasons to not only archive the new documents arriving each day but also to move existing documents from the old system into SAPERION, giving them a uniform archive. Migration of legacy data began in September of 2011. By the time it was completed in August of 2012, OTP's electronic archive was the world's largest SAPERION archive in terms of the number of documents, according to SAPERION. Since then it has grown by approximately five million documents per month. As of September, it contains more than one billion documents.
