Since January 2012, ContiTech Air Spring Systems has had the world's only testing lab for air suspension systems in rail vehicles that has been officially certified as independent. Twelve testing procedures that are important for the rail industry have been accredited to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025. With this testing, ContiTech Railway Engineering (CRE) underscores its high quality standards. As one of the world's leading suppliers of air suspension systems for rail vehicle technology, the company has for over 50 years stood for reliable products that also withstand the harsh requirements of the railway.
"Fulfilling the DIN standard represents a major step in our cooperation with our customers", says Friedrich Hoppmann, ContiTech Railway Engineering segment leader. "Original equipment suppliers and manufacturers often request test data from an accredited lab. We can now give them that." For instance, the certificate is relevant for further involvement in the equipping of high-speed trains.
"The accreditation underscores that the test lab staff provide test results, like those supplied by external testing facilities," says Hoppmann. Since the accreditation process, all segments of ContiTech Air Spring Systems have been considered to be external customers. With the certification to ISO 9001, TS 16949 and IRIS, the test laboratory has fulfilled top requirements already for many years.
