CSP GmbH&Co. KG has expanded its database archiving solution Chronos

(firmenpresse) - Database archive research has just become more convenient with the new, highly customisable Chronos Archive Explorer. CSP GmbH & Co. KG has expanded its database archiving solution Chronos with this new, intuitive user interface. The Chronos Archive Explorer enables all company departments to research all archived information from the relational databases with ease. Companies archiving their databases with Chronos will initially modify the solution individually - using the Chronos Web Designer - to meet their information requirements. On this basis, the users can then fill in forms and respond to prompts intuitively in order to find specific information in the archive more quickly. It is possible, for example, to search for a customer"s name or to enter combinations of search terms. In addition, the Chronos Archive Explorer can also display reports that were generated and processed based on the search data. What's more, documents such as process documentation are also stored here for download. The configuration of the interface and presentation of the individual pages in the Chronos Archive Explorer can be adjusted without any additional technical expertise. For this purpose, a WYSIWYG editor is used for designing the descriptive pages.

"Information in archived databases is by no means difficult to find - with Chronos, departments continue to have fast access to such data. The main advantage here is that the archived data is stored in accordance with compliance requirements and doesn"t place an unnecessary burden on the performance of the online database", explained Kilian Götz, product manager for database archiving at CSP. "The Chronos Archive Explorer has increased the convenience of the Chronos archives significantly. It allows us to depict existing company structures with ease, thus providing flexible support to the research requirements of any company.

To ensure that the database archive is designed to be as user-friendly as possible, the Chronos archive is first structured according to Business Objects. This makes it possible to recreate the company"s business model or corporate structure. Even different archive configurations for entirely different departments can all be presented in a coherent model. Users can navigate within a simple and familiar tree structure. This technology allows the structuring of the archive at any depth. An insurance company"s archive, for example, could be broken down into pet, personal and property insurance policies, each with any number of sub-items. The structure can also be changed retrospectively with drag and drop. All elements that are created with the Chronos Web Designer are only available to the user once they have been explicitly approved in the Chronos Archive Explorer. Furthermore, the user management system controls which group of users can access what information. The forms and query fields that allow the users to perform their search queries can be created and changed with ease by the relevant department. Any number of input fields and drop-down menus can be stored. In addition, the forms and queries can also be created without form fields. This is suitable for any archive content that must be searched primarily by time range. All kinds of specialist information is therefore available to users in the long term without the option of changes being made to it.
