ASC X12 Announces Technical Report for Health Care Fee Schedules Available
(firmenpresse) - FALLS CHURCH, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/11/12 -- The Accredited Standards Committee X12 (ASC X12) today announced the release of a new implementation guide for streamlining business transactions in the health care industry by supporting the electronic transfer of contracted fees schedules for medical services.
The ASC X12 Type 3 Technical Report for a Health Care Fee Schedule describes the standardized data and content requirements that make it possible to automate the delivery of a fee schedule from a health plan to those involved in submitting and processing medical claims. Physicians, health insurers, clearinghouses, provider networks, practice management vendors, employers, billing services and other participants in the medical claims process will all benefit from the use of the ASC X12 Fee Schedule transaction.
"ASC X12 recognizes the leadership of the American Medical Association (AMA) in creating the new healthcare industry guide and the valued participation of other industry stakeholders. The results of this collaborative effort will reduce administrative costs by standardizing the exchange details of a single fee schedule between a payer and provider," said Margaret Weiker, ASC X12's Insurance Subcommittee Chair.
