San Diego On-Air Personalities to Show Autism Support During the San Diego Autism Walk -- 10/6
(firmenpresse) - SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/10/12 -- With the increasing prevalence of autism, which now affects about 1 in every 88 American children according to the U.S. CDC, community support for autism is as important as ever and Walk Now for Autism Speaks San Diego has confirmed Virginia Cha, 10News anchor & reporter, and Claudia Llausas, Azteca San Diego anchor & reporter, will serve as Honorary Co-Chairs for the 8th annual event, to be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Liberty Station of Point Loma Ingram Plaza at 2640 Historic Decatur Road in San Diego.

Members of the media are invited to attend the event, interview and photograph participants, volunteers and special guests. Registration begins at 8 a.m., the opening ceremony is at 9:30 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10 a.m.
Powered by volunteers and families with loved ones on the autism spectrum, this fundraising effort generates vital funds for autism research and raises awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism, the fastest-growing serious developmental disorder, and the need for increased research funding to combat this complex disorder.
The 8th annual San Diego Walk Now for Autism Speaks 2012 event will take place October 6, 2012 at Liberty Station of Point Loma Ingram Plaza at 2640 Historic Decatur Road. The 2011 walk hosted 2,500 people and raised $128,500.
