(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 09/07/12 -- Youth Empowerment Performance Program (YEPP), formed to advocate for the (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) group of youth who experience homelessness, announces the debut of "," written by its young performers and based on true stories of individual discovery and the transformation of community perception and values that come as a result. Three presentations will be held at , , on September 14th, 15th and again on September 16. prices are $15.00 general admission and $10.00 for students and seniors and are now on sale at .

YEPP gained widespread recognition and acclaim from its 2011 production, "The Other Side of Hurt." Using funds raised through to stage and launch the production, YEPP opened "The Other Side of Hurt" to nearly all sold-out shows and received subsequent requests to bring the production to other Chicago venues.

YEPP founders had established the development and presentation of as a one-time project. However, following the successful reception to the work and the desire of the ensemble to continue moving forward with more productions, the project for "Rebirth" was created.

"Rebirth" brings individual stories of self-perception compared and contrasted to the perceptions of the outside world. Powerful and personal stories of transitions in self-awareness and self-acceptance are told in context of real world survival against the perceptions and stereotypes cast by family, friends and the community at large.

"Rebirth" is presented at Links Hall, 3435 N. Sheffield Avenue, Suite 207, Chicago, IL 60657, starting with shows on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 8:00 PM and on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 7:00 PM.

The mission of Youth Empowerment Performance Program (YEPP) is to seek a safe environment for street-based lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth to explore their history, investigate new ways to address their struggles and to celebrate their strengths through the process of developing a theatrical performance piece.
