HBO Europe Selects RGB Networks' Live OTT Streaming Solution
Leading Premium Pay TV Service Utilizing RGB's VMG Transcoder and TransAct Packager for Delivery of HBO GO Available Anywhere There Is a Broadband Connection

HBO GO is a TV Everywhere portal that allows HBO Europe's subscribers to instantly access over 1,400 hours of exclusive programming available anywhere there is a broadband connection. HBO GO is being rolled out across the region, with most subscribers now able to enjoy the service; a live streaming capability was added in the autumn of 2011. The live-streaming of a premium video service to a wide variety of end user devices requires an IP video solution that delivers the highest quality, capacity and reliability.
To address each of these requirements, HBO Europe chose RGB's VMG and TransAct Packager -- two key components of RGB's Enhanced Video Intelligence Architecture (eVIA) -- as key video components of their TV Everywhere service. RGB's integrated solution powers HBO Europe's transcoding and packaging for Microsoft Smooth Streaming, providing subscribers with unparalleled program choice across devices at the high quality expected from this premier content provider. In addition, HBO Europe has leveraged the highly compatible nature of RGB's solution to integrate its system with digital rights management (DRM) platforms, ensuring secure delivery of the content, which is crucial in today's increasingly competitive marketplace.
