District Administration and University Business Magazines to Increase Frequency of Print Editions

(firmenpresse) - NORWALK, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 09/04/12 -- Professional Media Group, LLC, publisher of District Administration and University Business magazines, announced today that both publications will increase their print frequency from 10 times a year to 12, starting in November 2012.

"At a time when many publications are reducing or abandoning their print editions, we are committed to giving readers and advertisers a choice of platforms, print and online," said Daniel E. Kinnaman, president of Professional Media Group and publisher of both its magazines.

"The information we've received from readers and advertisers, in surveys and informal discussions, strongly affirms that print continues to be a very powerful and desirable medium for conveying editorial and commercial content," Kinnaman added.

Both District Administration and University Business magazines have been published 10 times a year. Their publishing frequency will move to monthly beginning this November. Full content is also available on the magazines' respective web sites and in digital editions for viewing in Internet browsers and on tablet computers.

District Administration, with a controlled circulation of more than 75,000, covers K-12 management issues and reaches district-level administrators in virtually every U.S. school district. University Business, with a controlled circulation of over 48,000, covers higher education management and reaches the top administrative team at virtually all two- and four-year colleges and universities in the nation.

Also this week, Professional Media Group named J.D. Solomon as Editorial Director for both its magazines. Solomon had been Vice President for Business Development and Custom Media. In his new role he will retain responsibility for those areas and add leadership of the company's editorial staff and conference programming.

In addition, the company announced that Odvard Egil (Gil) Dyrli, who led District Administration's editorial staff earlier in his career, has returned as the magazine's Executive Editor. Dyrli, an education industry veteran, is a trustee of Messiah College in Pennsylvania, a former curriculum program director for several school districts and a frequent keynote presenter at K-12 staff development workshops throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. He also collaborated on three network television programs including the Emmy-award-winning Schoolhouse Rock on ABC-TV.
